A Mexican woman living in India is winning praises online with her opinions on the freedom she enjoys and how safe she feels here. During the OCLF 2024 event in Nagpur, Jaqueline Morales Cruz shared her thoughts about India and how her content is making other foreigners visit India without any second thoughts.
Taking to Instagram, the woman posted a short video from her on-stage appearance where she talked about her experiences. She is married to an Indian man and now lives here.
“We feel safe in India. We are able to drive, because many countries think we are unable to do many things. I can dress in kurta sometimes in Saree, But if I feel like (it), I can also wear western and I am feeling completely safe about creating content,” Cruz said while on stage.
“This is also opening the horizons for foreigners to come on holiday,” she added.

Her remarks were received positively by many and the viewers thanked her for showing the good side of India.
“I’m glad you can talk about the positive aspects of India and show how proud you are to have made it your home,” one user commented.
“It’s great to see someone speaking positively about India otherwise all I can find is a narrative that degrades India and puts it in a negative light,” wrote another. “Good to see someone projecting India in such a positive light,” a third user said.
But as always, there were some who believe that India is not exactly as how Cruz presented it. One doubted if Cruz was paid by the government to talk positively about the country.
